So there is a new guy at work, who likes to warn everone before he makes a question.
It reminds me of Dwight Schrute from The Office, except that this guy goes a step beyond and does it when asking questions in written form.
I didn't know I would find that so annoying until he started reviewing pull requests.
Question: is this a POD type?¹
Or in the chat window of some random meeting
Question: When do we want to have the lunch break?¹
I could understand why someone would preface a question in oral communication, it helps to draw the attention of the listeners, it makes them pay attention to what you are about to ask, specially if you are asking a question to a group of people. But in written communication? Why state the obvious?
